Inspired by the wild beauty of our home, we imagine a place where humans remember and celebrate their place in the natural world. We understand that living as part of a larger system enhances our well-being, and we have an opportunity to create more life with every action.
By developing a living system, we align our wellbeing with the land and wildlife that call it home. While we restore the land, the land restores us with the cleanest food, water, and air, allowing us to participate in the systemic wellness of our home.

BRINGING THE VISION TO LIFE
We began by rewilding and planting a sovereign native forest rich in food and medicinal species in 2024. This forest will provide nourishment and healing for all living creatures in our community for future generations. Its root systems run deeply into the soil, providing nutrients and stability, while its tree tops grow tall and expand their canopy, allowing wildlife to move freely. The reforestation of the land is the first of many regeneration initiatives Canopy continues to develop.
Technology helps us to better understand and evolve our living system - it connects us to our nature, not away from it.
CANOPY'S LAND LISTENING SYSTEM
Canopy has developed a land listening system that monitors wildlife movement, soil conditions, weather patterns, water table activity, and other critical indicators, allowing us to witness and better understand the land. This data will then be analyzed by experts and AI to develop a master plan that best supports the living system. The monitoring also allows us to actively measure our impact to the biodiversity and life forms on the land, bringing concrete data to support our mission to improve life as we develop. Canopy is proud to be one of the first developments globally to generate and sell Biodiversity credits, supporting the global initiative to align nature and economies for positive impact.

Playa Venao is a cove on Panama’s Pacific where daily life happens outside. Surf at sunrise, swim or paddle in calm water, then slip onto shaded trails that wind through recovering tropical dry forest.
Monkeys, seabirds, and seasonal whales remind you that this is a shared habitat. The village is walkable and welcoming, with small cafés, fresh-caught seafood, and produce from nearby farms. Movement, sunlight, ocean air, and real food are part of the rhythm here, and community grows naturally around them. Venao is a place to live well in nature, with everything close enough to reach on foot.
Canopy is building on the inherent magic of the location and utilizing an innovative development system to help restore the critically endangered tropical dry forest ecosystem, while inspiring the community to undertake similar efforts.
